North Dakota Governor John Hoeven signs the 2009 Entrepreneurship Week Proclamation proclaiming February 21-28, 2009, as North Dakota Entrepreneurship Week.  On hand to witness this proclamation were five 6th grade students from Saxvik Elementary School who completed projects for a Marketplace for Kids Education Day in 2008.  They were joined by the 2009 2nd place winner of the youth category Marketplace/Northern Plains Invention Contest, Jonah Eslinger, from Horizon Middle School in Bismarck.  Standing left to right are:  Jaiden Schuette, Dawn Helmer,  Nikki Schmaltz, and Jeremy Brick.  Seated left to right are:  Jonah Eslinger, Governor Hoeven, and Riley Marquardt.  Marketplace for Kids is designed to encourage innovative thinking at all ages by showcasing the ideas of North Dakota’s young people.
